BCCI secretary Jay shah announced a massive Rs. 125 crore prize money for the Indian T20 world cup winning team which was led by Rohit Sharma played in Barbados South Africa on Saturday 29th June 2024.

BCCI announced Rs. 125 crore as a prize money for Team India following the T20 World cup win. BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the prize money on social media on Sunday. And also Jay Shah wrote on X ” join us for the victory parade honouring Team India’s World cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede stadium on 4th July from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! save the date!”

Jay Shah the BCCI secretary was stating:” I am pleased to announced prize money of INR crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World cup 2024.The team has showcased expectational talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement.”

According to the International cricket council’s announcement, India pocketed a tournament prize money of $2.45 millions( nearly Rs.20.42 crore) after determining the T20 World cup 2024 title with their seven-run win in the final while runners-up South Africa captured a $1.28 million( Rs.10.67 crore) prize money.

The ICC title win under the leadership of Rohit Sharma has happened after 11 years since India’s champions Trophy win in England in 2013 and also their first T20 World cup title since the inaugural edition in 2007 in South Africa. Senior players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also announced their retirements from the T20I format just after their landmark victory in Bridgetown over South Africa. In T20 format Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma call time on their stint in the format as the top two highest run-getters in the format and the T20 World cup across editions. Head coach and Ex. captain Rahul Dravid also completed his title with the team on a high, winning his first major ICC tournament with the Indian national team.
