To get some red-ball practice in the Sheffield Shield before the Ashes, Australia batter Travis Head has been released from the T20I squad against India.

In four-wicket win of Australia in Melbourne last week, the left-hander scored 28 but managed only six from four balls in the third T20 in Hobart on Sunday as the Australian cricket team slumped to a five-wicket loss.

Travis Head will be available for Shield clash of Australia against Tasmania next week, Cricket Australia told on Monday.

On November 21, the first Ashes test begins in Perth.

Ahead of the fourth T20 match on the Gold Coast on Thursday, the T20 series is tied at 1-1, with the first match of T20 series in Canberra washed out by rain.
