Vinesh Phogat appeal against her disqualification from Paris 2024 Olympics is expected on Tuesday,13 August 2024, at 9.30 PM IST.CAS (The court of Arbitration for sport) has postponed his announcement, as it was expected earlier.Before Vinesh Phogat’s final bout she was disqualified due to 100 grams overweight, which led to her announcing her retirement from wrestling.

IOA(The Indian Olympic Association) has protected its medical team, highlighting that the responsibility of weight management lies with the athlete and their coach, not with the IOA-appointed medical staff. Concurrently, there has been significant support for Vinesh Phogat from various quarters, like public figures, former athletes who has believe she deserves at least a silver medal.After CAS hearing it will decide that weather she will get a silver medal or not.

The Court of Arbitration for sport told on Saturday that Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for a shared Silver medal after she was disqualified from an Olympic final for missing weight could come as late as Tuesday.

Sport’s highest court originally said the decision was expected to be made by the end of Olympics, but CAS has granted sole arbitrator Annabelle Bennett more time.The court was told the time limit can be extended “in exceptional circumstances.”

Last Wednesday Vinesh Phogat has challenged her disqualification after she failed to make the weight for her 50 kg final against USA’s Sarah Hildebrandt. The Indian wrestler was found 100 grams overweight on the morning of the final and was afterwards disqualified from the competition.Guzman Lopez replaced Vinesh Phogat in the final match, and American Sarah Hildebrandt defeated Guzman Lopez by 3-0 to win the gold medal.

Due to this heartbreaking incident Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from sport. “My courage is broken, I don’t have any more strength now. Goodbye Wrestling, 2001-2024. “
