Bihar had earlier hosted the inaugural edition of Kabaddi in year 2012.
Bihar is all set to script history once again as Bihar prepares to host the Women’s Kabaddi World cup in March of this year means 2025. This is the second time that Bihar will host this honoured international event, after successful debut as the host in year 2012. The tournament will going to organize at the state-of-the-art Rajgir Sports Academy. 14 countries will expected to participate in this tournament.
Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA), Ravindran Sankaran, peaked the correct preparations underway for this landmark Women’s Kabaddi World Cup. Ravindran disclosed that the inspection teams, with their support staff, will be lodged at the academy itself.
Ravindran Sankaran told “The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup will be organized in March 2025. Teams from 14 countries will participate. Eight Asian countries and the remaining six countries from Europe, South Africa, South America, and Poland will also participate in it. After discussing this matter, it has been finalized that this event will be held in the indoor hall of Rajgir Sports Academy.
Women’s Kabaddi World Cup edition of 2012, held at the Patliputra Sports Complex which is at Patna, watched India claim the title after a exciting final against Iran.
16 teams featured in that inaugural tournament along with participants from the United State, Japan, Italy and Mexico setting a high standard for international Kabaddi events.
The stakes for Women’s Kabaddi World Cup are even higher this year. For finalizing key details the Asian Kabaddi Federation’s president, Dr. Abbas Khajeh Awarse, and Tejaswi Gahlot, The International Kabaddi Federation’s Director have already visited Bihar. An MoU between the state’s sports authority and the Kabaddi Federation will soon be signed to outline the match schedules including the logistics.
